Applying as an International Baccalaureate (IB) Applicant

How Students Indicate They are in an IB Program in Their Undergraduate Application
  • Students who are following the IB Diploma or Certificate program in an Ontario high school provide this information in the Tell Us More section on the Education page in their Undergraduate application.
  • Once students submit their application, they cannot change this information.
  • Only school officials who have “Update” access in COLS can change this information in the Diploma Details tab through the Academic Information option.
Sending IB Grades to the OUAC

We do not record IB academic data electronically.

  • Schools send IB predicted grades to the OUAC in February and April. The DP Chair, IBSO sends a memo to all IB schools each year with details on how the grades are to be sent to the OUAC. Follow the instructions in the memo carefully.
  • We forward the IB transcripts that we receive to each of the student’s selected Ontario universities.
  • We do not collect essays or extracts.

We urge schools to transcribe IB courses and grades into equivalent Grade 12 courses and forward them electronically to the OUAC, as many universities require the OSS equivalents for scholarships and other adjudications.

IB Applicants to Out-of-province Institutions

We will not forward IB transcripts to out-of-province institutions.

Ontario IB students who apply to 1 or more out-of-province institution(s) must arrange for their high school to send their IB grades directly to those institutions.

However, we will transmit OSS curriculum courses and grades to specified institutions through the regular channels.
