Students are encouraged to sign up for OUEvents to:

• Learn more about their university options and sign up for events (like open houses, campus tours and OUEvents).
• Connect with all the Ontario universities they are interested in, so the universities can send them personalized information.
• Receive advice about how to apply to and pay for university.
• Stay on top of important deadlines.
• Help universities improve their programs and services to better serve current and future applicants.

Sharing their information with universities by signing up for OUEvents helps the universities improve their programs and services to better serve your students.

As guidance counsellors, you understand the importance of personalized support for each student’s unique path.

Data allows us to effectively communicate with students about their university options and the application process, providing tailored advice to help them navigate admission, explore financial aid opportunities and stay on top of crucial deadlines.

The information we gather enables us to offer targeted guidance on programs of interest and upcoming university events, such as open houses and information sessions. In 2023 alone, over 66,216 students chose to share their contact information through OUEvents and OUInfo.

Privacy and data protection are important concerns, and we adhere strictly to the applicable privacy statement and Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA). When students share their data with us, it falls under the umbrella of our commitment to safeguarding their privacy.
